Loosely based on Paul Tremblay’s 2018 novel “The Cabin at the End of the World,” this home invasion horror film of the apocalypse has an absolutely killer cast. Excitement first sparked when “Guardians of the Galaxy” star and pro-wrestler Dave Bautista joined the film, with Shyamalan citing his turn in “Blade Runner 2049” as his reasoning for casting him. Shortly after, “Harry Potter” mainstay Rupert Grint was cast, who recently had a phenomenal run in Shyamalan’s Apple TV+ series “Servant.” The two are joined by Nikki Amuka-Bird who was seen in Shyamalan’s “Old,” with “Mindhunter,” “Hamilton,” and “The Matrix Resurrections” star Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge (“Pennyworth,” Fleabag”) rounding out the cast.
As is customary, Shyamalan is writing, directing, producing, and funding the film, with Jarin Blaschke (“The Lighthouse,” “Servant,” “The Northman”) bringing his vision to life as director of photography. “This one really changed me as a person and an artist,” the director said in a Tweet announcing the film’s wrap. Whether you love him or hate him, a new Shyamalan movie is always going to be worth talking about.
“Knock at the Cabin” arrives in theaters on February 3, 2023.
